Tickled
Ivories is a unique, fun-filled piano learning program specifically
created for children ages 3 and up. Tickled Ivories is taught in
child care centers, after school programs, and school district after
school programs.
Tickled Ivories utilizes developmentally and age appropriate curriculum.
We also place a special emphasis on providing a safe, progressive,
and positive learning environment for all our students.
|
No Stress, Positive Learning Environments: |
| Tickled Ivories strives to make lessons
rewarding and enjoyable. The primary goal is to make learning to play
the piano a positive, fun experience. Strict practice regiments are
not outlined. However, as children mature or in the case of an older
student, regular practice is certainly beneficial and encouraged.
Given time, any student who is willing to put forth the dedication
to regular practicing will grow to be amazed at just how quickly and
substantially their skills will progress. |

Age Appropriate Learning: |
| Lessons are especially designed
and curriculum is selected to maximize learning and appeal to individual
age groups. For instance, manipulatives such as "Playdough"
are used to reinforce theoretical concepts in preschoolers. Older
students may use dry erase boards and flashcards. In either case we
work to find the best means of conveying knowledge to each of our
individual students by working to understand their unique needs and
what learning methods work best for them. |
Why Peer Group Learning? |
| The social elements of group activities are strong motivators
for preschoolers. Children in elementary school also enjoy being part
of a group. The group provides reassurance, the opportunity to learn
from others, and exposes the student to a mildly competitive atmosphere
that can encourage learning and practice. The net result of all our
teaching methods are life long skills attained through fun and motivating
means that encourage the student to continue down the path of music
throughout the rest of their lives. |
