Q Why are lessons taught in small groups?
Peer-group classes offer an effective, fun, and motivational way to begin learning to play the piano. Peer-groups encourage interaction and cooperation. It provides the opportunity to learn from others, lead others and promotes a mildly competitive atmosphere which can promote at-home practice and accomplishment.

Q.What if my child is learning at a faster or slower pace that his/her peers?
Children are all unique but are all generally motivated and encouraged in the small, peer-group class environment. Occasionally a student's learning pace will differ from that of their peer group class. Teachers are trained to recognized individual student's strengths and areas of challenge and will notify you if another class would better suit your child's learning style, pace, or skill level.

Q.Do I need an instrument at home to begin lessons?
Absolutely not. While having access to an instrument or having one at home is certainly conducive to learning and progress, it is not mandatory. Many times, parents want to "test the waters" to see if their child is truly interested or committed before investing in an instrument.

Q.Will my child be given the opportunity to participate in any type of performance or recital?
Yes! Tickled Ivories Piano Parties are scheduled annually. Students are encouraged to participate.
